HR Professionals must be ethical at all times, in all interactions with employees and employee advocates in both verbal and written communications

ETHICS in Human Resources is crucial for any business or agency.  Ethical breaches and missteps can lead to litigation, damage to company or agency reputation and damage to employee loyalty.

HUMAN RESOURCES BY DESIGN

I have often been asked, of all the things you could, why HR?  Or have you ever heard this one - "Don't take this personally, but I really wouldn't want your job?  Or my favorite, "Don't take this the wrong way, but I really hope we don't meet again."

I find HR to be a challenging, ever-changing environment and there is almost never a dull day. Those dull days typically occur when you come into the office during off hours and holidays to catch up! If there are employees around, the day is not dull.

To quote a wonderful HR professional I know, "Great, just great!!"  Is this the reaction you sometimes feel when faced with telling a difficult supervisor, manager or employee "no"?  Well, you aren't alone.

Hopefully, the on-the-job wisdom and humor shared on this site will help you through even the most challenging situations.
